Quandoo has closed: where UK restaurants can move next
Quandoo took its last bookings on 30 September 2026. Its owner, Recruit Holdings, decided to close it worldwide after a review of its businesses, and the platform goes offline completely by 31 December. If your restaurant or pub used it, your booking button is now a dead end. Here are the real options, what they cost, and how to pick one without a week of sales calls.
First, the two things to do today
- Get your data. Bookings already made still stand, because the booking is between you and your guest, not Quandoo. Reports say restaurant access to the Quandoo portal ended on 1 October, so if you cannot log in to export upcoming bookings and your guest list, contact Quandoo support now and ask for them.
- Replace the dead button. Every customer who taps your old Quandoo widget or Google link today is turned away. Even a temporary booking link is better than nothing while you decide.
The step by step version is in our 30 minute migration plan.
The three kinds of replacement
Most of the confusion comes from comparing things that are not the same. UK booking systems fall into three groups.
1. Marketplaces: they send you diners, for a fee
OpenTable and TheFork (owned by Tripadvisor) list you in a diner app, like Quandoo did. That can bring new customers, especially in cities and tourist areas. The price is a subscription plus a fee per diner on bookings that come through their network, and on TheFork, discount promotions. If Quandoo's app genuinely brought you new tables, this is the like-for-like replacement. Compare: Nabsie vs OpenTable, Nabsie vs TheFork.
2. Full front of house systems: powerful, priced to match
ResDiary, SevenRooms and Access Collins are serious systems for busy restaurants and groups: detailed table plans, guest CRM, marketing, enquiries and integrations with tills and hotel systems. Access Collins publishes a fixed £135 a month; ResDiary and SevenRooms quote on request. Worth it if you have a reservations manager and use the depth. Compare: vs ResDiary, vs SevenRooms, vs Access Collins.
3. Flat priced booking systems: your customers, your page, no commission
If most of your bookings came from people who already knew you (your website, Google, Instagram, regulars), you do not need a marketplace. You need a booking page that works, reminders that cut no-shows, and something staff can use on a phone. These systems charge a flat monthly fee or nothing at all.
| Free plan | Typical paid price | Per booking fees | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nabsie | 50 bookings a month | £14.99 a month (up to 1,000), £29.99 (up to 5,000) | Never |
| resOS | 25 bookings a month | €45 a month (up to 350) | None |
| Favouritetable | 30 bookings a month | £69 to £199 a month, or £2 a cover on Flex | On Flex only |
| Tablein | 14 day trial | About £60 a month for 50 reservations | Yes, for each extra reservation |
Prices from each provider's own website, 1 October 2026, before any introductory discounts. Check them yourself before deciding.
How to choose in ten minutes
- Where did your Quandoo bookings come from? If most came through the Quandoo app, consider a marketplace. If most came from your own website, Google and regulars, a flat priced system will cost far less.
- How many bookings a month? Under 60, you may not need to pay anything. Under 1,000, you should not be paying more than about £10 a month.
- Do you need deposits? For big groups and Christmas, yes. Check they go through your own card account, not the booking company's.
- Can you leave? Avoid long contracts and check you can export your bookings and guest list at any time. Quandoo is the reminder of why.
- Will they set it up with you? A good provider will move you across and set it up, not just send a help article.
Where Nabsie fits
We built Nabsie for the third group: independents who want their own customers to book them directly, without paying per cover. It is free for up to 50 bookings a month, £14.99 a month for up to 1,000 and £29.99 for up to 5,000 with deposits, events and pre-orders. The booking page works in 14 languages, and we will move you from Quandoo and set it up with you for free, by phone or video call. What we do not do is send you diners from an app; if that is what you need, the marketplaces above are the honest answer.
FAQ
After Quandoo
Why did Quandoo close?
Its owner, Recruit Holdings, decided to close Quandoo in every country after a review of its businesses. It stopped taking bookings on 30 September 2026 and is being switched off completely by 31 December 2026.
Are bookings made through Quandoo still valid?
Yes. The booking is between you and the guest, so honour it. Add upcoming ones to your new system so guests get a reminder.
What is the best Quandoo alternative in the UK?
It depends what you used Quandoo for. For diner discovery, OpenTable or TheFork. For a full front of house system, ResDiary, SevenRooms or Access Collins. For simple direct bookings without commission, a flat priced system such as Nabsie, resOS or Tablein.
What is the cheapest replacement for Quandoo?
Of the systems compared here, Nabsie has the largest free plan (50 bookings a month) and the lowest paid price (£14.99 a month for up to 1,000 bookings), with no per cover fees.
What happens to my Quandoo reviews?
They disappear with the platform. Your Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook reviews are not affected, so ask happy customers to review you there.
